Samsung Televisions

Samsung are a brand primarily known for producing mobile phones but more and more they are being known as a producer of quality televisions. Samsung produce a wide range of televisions for almost all budgets. The first of their TV range is the Samsung LED TVs.

Samsung LED TV’s

The difference between a normal television is the back lighting, Back lighting is very important in a television as it helps to create the image. Normal televisions use a florescent lamp as a back light but Samsung LED televisions instead use a series of LED’s (light emitting diodes) which need a lot less energy and offer a better picture due to the improved contrast on the screen.

Samsung LED televisions range from £899 (32”) to £2500 (55”) and all of them come with HD ready 1080p screens.  The point of having an LED TV is that the viewing quality will be good but Samsung haven’t skimped on the sound. All the Samsung LED televisions have dual speakers with SRS TruSound HD, a high definition sound experience for a high definition picture. All the Samsung LED televisions are geared towards intensive viewing of films and TV series’, its designed for people who’ll appreciate the sharper picture and more intense sound. Another spec of the Samsung LED’s is that they are all flat screen, meaning that there is no distortion of the picture as there would be on a curved screen. The standard response time for Samsung LED televisions is around 8 milliseconds.

Samsung LCD TV’s

Samsung have four ranges of LCD televisions (know as series 4, series 5, series 6 and series 7) the series 7 is obviously the most up to date and most expensive. LCD is the regular format that all flat screen televisions come in today. Samsung incorporate ‘wide colour enhancer 2’ technology which is specific to Samsung. Another good feature of the Samsung LCD TV’s is the USB 2.0 connection. The Samsung LCD’s are advertised as being perfect for sharing photos and that is exactly what they are. The Samsung LCD televisions can be used as a viewing platform for pictures, movies and audio, all you need to have them stored on something with a USB 2.0 connection port. Then it can be connected to your Samsung LCD TV and you’re away viewing your pictures and movies on the LCD technology.

Samsung ECO TV

Samsung ECO is a green branch of Samsung televisions.  They’re ordinary televisions with all the features you’d expect from a Samsung television, great picture, great audio etc but they’re better for the environment. Samsung claim to cut down on waste discharge and by doing this, therefore improving their efficiency. They also claim to properly manage any pollutants caused by the manufacture of their televisions and alternate raw materials. By this they mean that they alternate the sources they get their raw metals from, not all of it will come from one place.

Another point that Samsung is keen to make is that they have a great link with communities local to where they get their raw materials. Samsung take part in education schemes for young people so they can learn where and how Samsung ECO televisions are made safely with minimal harm to the environment.
